AquaMaker is a powerful, fast working water conditioner.

It makes aggressive tap water immediately suitable for all freshwater and marine aquariums. AquaMaker can also be used in reef aquariums and garden ponds. It is absolutely safe for all fish, plants, corals, shrimps, snails and the biological filter.

AquaMaker has no impact on the pH, KH or GH. Furthermore, AquaMaker will not overactivate skimmers in marine aquariums.

Use

AquaMaker is best added to the tap water used for the water change. Only use the dose for the volume of this new tap water. Thus, aggressive substances are immediately neutralized.

AquaMaker can of course also be added directly to the aquarium. In this case, base the dosage on the total volume of the aquarium water.

Dosage

The standard dosage is 10 ml AquaMaker per 50 liters of aquarium water.
Or:
The standard dosage is 1 US fl oz AquaMaker per 40 US Gallons of aquarium water.

Shake before use. The product may release a sulfur odor.

Example: dosing to tap water for water change
Five buckets of each 10 liters are filled to change water. Dose 2 ml of AquaMaker in each bucket and mix it. The mixture can be added to the aquarium right away, because AquaMaker works instantly.

Example: dosing to an aquarium
An aquarium has a water volume of 100 liters and 20 liters of water is changed. The dosage of AquaMaker is for the full water content, in this case 100 liters. The addition to the aquarium water should be 20 ml of AquaMaker.

Deviating dosages – concentrations of chloramine, chlorine and nitrite & water temperature

* use a half dose of AquaMaker (5 ml per 50 liters; 1 US fl oz per 80 US Gallons) at low concentrations of chlorine, chloramine or ammonia

* use a double dose of AquaMaker (20 ml per 50 liters; 2 US fl oz per 40 US Gallons) at higher concentrations of chlorine, chloramine of ammonia

* emergency: use a triple dose of AquaMaker (30 ml per 50 liter; 3 US fl oz per 40 US Gallons) at very high nitrite concentrations (3 mg/L or higher) or at very high ammonia concentrations (1 mg/L or higher)

* use up to half a dose of AquaMaker (maximum) as soon as the water temperature reaches  30 ºC (= 86 ºF)

  • Can I use AquaMaker at the same time with Easy-Life Filter Medium or EasyStart?

Filter Medium or EasyStart should always be used separately from other products such as AquaMaker. The reason is that Filter Medium or EasyStart can remove certain ingredients from other additives (fertilizers, medications and other water treatments). It is best to add Filter Medium or EasyStart first, for example after a water change. After addition the water becomes cloudy, and after a while the water becomes crystal clear again. Now other products like AquaMaker, can be added tot he aquarium without any problems. So always wait until the water turns crystal clear again, to avoid any issues. However, Filter Medium and EasyStart can always be added simultaneously.

  • My ammonia test measures strange values after using AquaMaker.

AquaMaker affects the results of these ammonia (NH3/NH4+) tests that are based on Nessler reagents or salicylates. This makes them unreliable. By the way, all reducing agents act smilarly. It’s best to use a test that is not affected by reducing agents. Or wait about 48 hours after the addition of AquaMaker to run the test. Then the product has no more effect on the measurement.

  • What impact does AquaMaker have on the biological filter?

AquaMaker binds nitrite, nitrate and ammonia, but doesn’t remove them. The useful bacteria can still ‘grab’ these compounds and utilize them in their biological processes. In this way, AquaMaker has little influence on the functions of the useful bacteria. This applies to both the nitrification and the denitrification processes.

  • When do I use an emergency dosage AquaMaker?

The emergency dosage is 3 x the standard dosage (30 ml per 50 liter; 3 US fl oz per 40 US Gallons). This triple dosage should be used when the nitrite concentration is at 3 ppm or higher or when the ammonia concentration exceeds 1 ppm.

  • What happens to the bonded ammonia, nitrite or nitrate?

AquaMaker binds these compounds, so they can’t pose any threat to fish or other aquarium occupants. The useful bacteria in the biofilter and in the soil, can further utilize these compounds in their biological processes.

  • Can I dose AquaMaker more often?

Yes, after 24 hours the product can be dosed again for the total water volume of the aquarium, without the need for a water change.
